Brothers to the End
"I've never met a soldier who knew he was a hero. It's not false modesty. They simply decide to do something that they know they must do, usually for their comrades, because if they don't, those people will suffer in some way. For them, that compulsion is far stronger than any fear. The fact that we find that exceptional is a sad indictment of the human race. I'd like to live in a world of heroes. If we did, there would be no wars." -General Jolyon Iver, Commander, COG Land Forces
“If Cliffy Ran The World” - Cliff Bleszinski’s Take Of The Gaming Industry
In a recent interview with Gamasutra, Cliff Bleszinski of Epic Games went on a very large talk about the nature of pinnacle Japanese games such as Resident Evil 4, Fatal Frame II, and more. He also holds a few criticisms of the Western game developers as well, inserting some ideas that may fuel the market and direction of gaming as a whole- indie or mainstream.
I could easily list a whole number of points for you to read, but the entire article is worth your time. Be sure to look at Gamasutra’s entire 4-page interview of Cliff, and let us know: what do you think about his ideas?

Look what arrived today… The Slab by Karen Traviss. It’s perfect timing considering I only finished Glasslands yesterday.
I’m also off to see The Avengers tonight. Today is a good day.

The Stranded are the people of Sera who couldn’t get to the Jacinto Plateau due to the short time limit Chairman Prescott set up so the Locust Horde could not be warned of an impending attack.
Once the generals of the COG unleashed the orbital beams and chemical weapons on planet Sera, the Stranded were all left for dead and homeless in the streets of the outlying cities. Left alone to fend for themselves without the protection of the Coalition to fight against the Locust Horde.
